Founded by in 2019, True East is a chordless trio founded by trombonist Dan Lehner with bassist Ran Livneh and drummer Zack O'Farrill. Combining Afro-Latin music, modern jazz and indie rock, the group has performed all across New York at venues like Barbes, Cafe Erzulie, Nublu 151 and many more. They released their self-released debut EP "First EP", mixed and mastered by Eivind Opsvik, in 2020. Each member has performed across the world in a diverse array of musical environments. Lehner has performed with artists like Orrin Evans, Jimmy Bosch, Zafem, High and Mighty Brass Band, Karikatura and many more, touring the US, Europe and South America. Livneh has performs and tours with artists like Anbessa Orchestra and Habbina Habbina and co-leads groups such as Underground Spiritual Game. O'Farrill regularly performs and records with Kali Rodriguez-Pena, Adam O'Farrill, Mali Obomsawin, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra and more, touring the US, Canada, Europe, Cuba and more.
